2003 Art & Design major Melanie Usas Crabb and husband Gavin Crabb - a 2002 Engineering grad -- in their neighborhood: New York City. The couple live in New Jersey and work in Manhattan. He's working in finance (after getting his MBA from UCLA. She's a designer at an ad agency. They returned to San Luis Obispo to tie the knot Sept. 6. And they won the Photo of the Month prize for this shot of them in front of the Brooklyn Bridge. Visit Melanie Usuas' PolyLink personal page for more photos.
The year was 1953, the car was a 1939 ford and the place was Berkeley. Ag Engineering Seniors Don Lindquist (left) and Miller "Kep" Keplinger (right) headed up to spend some time at the Lindquist's family home during spring break. Keplinger won the August PolyLink Photo of the month title - and a cool Cal Poly Alumni window decal - for this shot of the friends on break. Use the 'Locate a Classmate' link to at left to find both grads and see more of Keplinger's great photos.
Gary Gatel (B.S., Business Administration, 1977) in 1975. He turned his love of motorcycles into a career. Gatel is the President of Rifle Fairings, a company that makes and sells fairings for motorcycles.

What's a fairing? It's the cool and frequently colorful aerodynamic body piece under the windshield that channels air around the rider.

And of course, Gatel is still riding motorcycles when he's not at work. If you're an alumn, log in to PolyLink to see more of his photos.

Julie Goldzman (B.S, Ecology and Systematic Biology, 2003) and a Polar Bear relax on a trip through bear country in Manitoba, Canada in 2007. Goldman works for Natural Habitat Adventures, a company that leads ecotours throughout the world. Use the 'Locate a Classmate' link at left if you're a PolyLink alumni member and find out more about Goldzman's work adventures. Not a PolyLink alumnimember yet? It's free! May 2008 Photo of the Month: Second-generation Cal Poly engineering grad Bjorn Adams carves up the slope in the Canadian Rockies during a 2005 ski trip. Use the "Locate a Classmate" link at left to visit Adams' page.
Alumnus Jamie Gaiser enjoys a little down time. When he's not racing motorcycles, Gaiser is a C-17 transport pilot for the U.S. Air Force. He also just embarked on one of life's biggest adventures: parenthood. Find great photos from his photo, hobby and home life on his PolyLink Profile.
Photo of the Month: March 2008
Scootering Across Isla de Mujeres. Meghan Thompson-Payne and her husband Austin Payne are a Mustang Marriage. "We actually met WOW week of freshman year and dated all the way through college," said Thompson-Payne. Both are 2004 graduates. This month's Photo of the Month is a close-up shot of the couple as they scootered around Isla de Mujeres, Mexico, in 2007 -- after flying there for a friend's wedding. The couple moved to Berkeley for their jobs last summer.
This is not Katie Cooney. This is a photo she took of a coffee vendor in Cappadocia, Turkey, on one of her trips. Cooney, a Human Development grad, is a professional photographer in San Jose. She has one of the most extensive travel photo albums in PolyLink. Visit her profle page and click on the "View Member albums" link to see them all. Not a PolyLink member? You can see more of her photos on her professional Web site, www.katiecooney.com.
After his tour of duty in Vietnam ended in 1969, Steve Plath (Math, 1967) let his hair grow. This photo was taken in 1972 -- with the future Mrs. Plath. "I'm not sure when I finally got it cut, but it was much shorter (around my shoulders) when Suzan and I got married in 1974. My ears reappeared in the 1990s." Today he's the president of a high-end contracting company in Marin county, and has some of the best "back in the day" photos in PolyLink
Three-year-old Mia Brown, daughter of alumni couple Monica and Matt Brown, shows off her new Cal Poly Cheer outfit at Homecoming. Monica Brown captured the December 2007 Photo of the Month award for the shot.
November 2007 Photo of the Month: Matt DuPuy (Computer Engineering 2002).

DuPuy, a software engineer, gets the title this month for this shot of him climbing the Matterhorn in 2005 -- the real peak in Switzerland, not the Disney version. And in Cal Poly Colors! (Gold, at least...)

DuPuy says his Cal Poly education has allowed him to finance his passion: mountain climbing.

October, 2007 PolyLink Photo of the Month. Matthew Leon, sporting a cool Cal Poly cap, works with Nova the emu, on the job at Green Chimneys Farm and Wildlife Center in New York. See more photos from the 1999 Animal Science grad on his Personal Page on PolyLink. Click on the 'Locate a Classmate' link at left & type in his name to find his page.
